Affogato Eleganza

Ingredients:
- 2 small scoops (about 1 cup) of high-quality vanilla gelato or ice cream
- 1 shot hot espresso
- ½ oz. almond or hazelnut liqueur (e.g., Disaronno or Frangelico, optional
- Chocolate shavings, optional
- Chopped toasted pistachios, optional
- Biscotti or rolled wafer cookies, for serving, optional
Instructions:
- Place a shallow dessert bowl or heat-safe glass in the freezer for about 15 minutes to chill before serving.
- Scoop the gelato or ice cream into the chilled bowl. Pour the hot espresso over the top, along with the liqueur if using. Ensure the gelato is evenly coated with the espresso. Optionally, garnish with chocolate shavings or chopped pistachios.
- Serve immediately, accompanied by biscotti or wafer cookies if desired.
